Meet the Staff at Second Image
David and Carol Hickman
David and Carol Hickman are the owners of Second Image.
They operated Second Image from home for eight years and the company has been based in commercial premises since March 2002 and is now located at the corner of Te Roto Drive and Manchester Street, Paraparaumu.
Before taking over Second Image in January 1994 Carol and David had been involved in running a number of businesses. David’s career also includes 25 years in local government, with various councils around NZ, and 5 years with a national farming organisation..
Their goal at Second Image is to provide alternative printer cartridges that work as well as, or better than, original branded cartridges, at a much lower price than original cartridges.
Carol and David have three adult children and six grandchildren. They both enjoy reading, walking and gardening. Carol is an accomplished knitter and paints porcelain as a hobby.
David plays bowls and enjoys fishing. He is also a member of the Kapiti Rotary Club, the Kapiti Chamber of Commerce and the Gold Coast Chapter of BNI, the business networking group.
Kristen Hickman
Kristen Hickman has worked at Second Image since July 2002 and, yes, she is the daughter of David and Carol who own the business.
Prior to joining Second Image Kristen had worked as an Administration Manager at Te Papa and before that with Crown Forestry Rental Trust - Corporate Affairs.
Her role at Second Image is Administration Manger, but latterly, she has taken responsibility for sales and marketing (except for internet marketing which is one of David’s responsibilities).
Kristen and her partner live in Paraparaumu with their ten year old son. She enjoys reading and gardening and is involved in the administration of the local indoor basketball club. Kristen is a member of the Kapiti Chapter of BNI.
John & Heather Ryersson
John and Heather Ryersson moved to Levin in May 2008 after seven years at Raumati Beach. They were looking for a more provincial lifestyle and are very happy , having settled so quickly and easily in their busy and friendly new town.
John attends the ELECTRA business breakfasts at the Levin RSA and he and Heather have joined the Levin Cosmopolitan Club. The Ryerssons have many years experience in various office roles and they look forward to meeting the people in business in Levin and being of assistance to them with their printers, copiers and consumables.
